Where I work
I cover the local area and surrounding villages and towns, working in occupied homes with the same care and tidiness wherever the job is.
Surrounding villages
I sweep, service and fit stoves in the villages around the local area, working the same way wherever the job is.
Nearby towns
Chimney sweeping, stove fitting and fireplace restoration carried out in the towns near the local area.
Local rural areas
Rural properties often mean older chimneys and dormant fireplaces, which is work I take on regularly.
Neighbouring districts
I travel to neighbouring districts for sweeps, stove installs and chimney advice as needed.
FAQs
Common questions
How does the process work?
I start with a look at your chimney or stove to understand exactly what's needed, whether that's a sweep, a service, or a new installation. From there I give you a clear explanation and a fixed price before any work begins.
Do you give fixed quotes?
Yes, every job is quoted after I've seen the work involved, so you get a clear, fixed price with no surprises once the work starts.
Are you insured and do you follow current standards?
Yes, I'm fully insured, and all stove and flue installations are carried out with current regulations, including Document J, taken into account.
How long does a sweep or installation take?
A standard sweep usually takes under an hour. Stove installations and fireplace restorations take longer, and I'll give you a realistic timeframe once I've seen the job.
How do I know if there's an underlying problem with my chimney?
I inspect the chimney and flue properly rather than just clearing soot, so if there's an issue like a damaged liner or a blockage, I'll identify it and explain your options honestly.
