Wilson's Community Pool

I run Reid Street Pool as Wilson's public pool, open every summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. It's not a private club or a hotel amenity, it's a community pool, and I keep it that way on purpose so anyone in Wilson can use it.

The one thing I don't cut corners on is lifeguard coverage. There's a lifeguard on duty at every session the pool is open, whether it's a busy Saturday with fifty kids in the water or a quiet Tuesday lap swim. Keeping the pool clean matters just as much, since a public pool only works if people trust the water they're swimming in.

Most of what happens at Reid Street Pool is simple: families cooling off, kids learning to swim, adults getting their laps in, neighbors running into each other on the deck. That's the pool I set out to run, and it's the one I keep running every summer.
