A blocked dryer vent makes your dryer work harder and takes longer to dry a load, and it's one of the more common fire hazards in a home that homeowners never think to check. I run the vent line clear from the back of the dryer to where it exits the house, pulling out built-up lint along the way.
Once it's clear, I check the exterior flap opens and closes properly and reconnect the dryer, running it briefly to make sure everything's venting the way it should.
