Bring a sample from about elbow-deep in the pool, in a clean bottle, and I'll run it on the spot. You get chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness and stabilizer as a minimum, with metals or phosphates checked too if the water looks off or you ask for it.
I don't hand you a printout and send you off guessing. I go through what each number means for your pool, what's driving it out of range, and exactly what to add and how much. If the water's fine, I'll tell you that too - you don't leave with a bag of chemicals you don't need.
