FAQs
Common questions
How does a chimney sweep with you work?
I arrive at the agreed time, sheet down the hearth area, then power sweep the chimney, stove or range to clear soot and debris. If there's a concern about the flue, I can carry out a CCTV inspection too.
How much does a chimney sweep cost?
Every job is quoted for individually, and out of hours appointments may be available on request - just get in touch and I'll confirm the price before any work starts.
Are you insured and qualified?
Yes, I'm a qualified member of the Chimney Sweep Academy and issue a certificate for every chimney I sweep.
How long does a sweep take?
Most sweeps are completed within an hour, though this depends on the chimney, whether it's lined or pot-lined, and if a CCTV inspection is needed.
Can you tell me if there's a problem with my flue?
Yes - alongside the sweep I offer CCTV camera inspections, which let me check inside the flue for cracks, blockages, bird nests or other damage.
What areas do you cover?
I cover Pickering and the surrounding Ryedale area, as well as Whitby and nearby towns and villages.
